What is HVO?
HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a low-carbon biofuel produced from renewable plant-based waste materials using hydrogen as a catalyst, which avoids the instability issues of traditional biodiesel. Unlike conventional biofuels, it doesn’t contain FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) and results in a cleaner, longer-lasting fuel.
Because it’s made from waste plant matter, HVO contributes no additional carbon emissions, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to regular diesel.
